Various Spa Updates

Some various spa updates...
  1. Green Spa has closed down. Good riddance.
  2. I went to Wi Spa a few weeks ago, using the voucher I had, and noticed that, on the price list, the sauna-only price was listed as $20, where before it was $15. I'm not sure when they changed it.
  3. Funny story... I went to Century Spa a couple of weeks ago. As I was getting dressed to leave, a guy was just arriving, and his locker was a couple of lockers away from mine. Anyway, he wrapped his towel around his waist before taking off his underwear, which I just thought was hilarious... I mean, even at Century, what's the point, right? So he left the locker room with the towel wrapped around him, and I continued getting dressed.

A minute or two later, he comes back into the locker room, opens his locker, and puts his clothes back on (again with the towel on while he put on his underwear)... and then he left. I have no idea what was going on there, but I'm assuming he had no idea you had to get naked in front of people?
  4. I also went to Riviera Spa about a week and a half ago. Sauna was too hot. Warm pool was too hot. The only reason I went was because I was in the area (and a friend, who was also in the area, wanted to meet me there)
Anyone else have any interesting spa observations or stories?

  1. I'll chime in -
    1. Yeah, as a local guy I won't miss Green Sauna. I do visit Seoul Sauna from time to time, in the same neighborhood. Lately some of their spa staff has changed. I haven't seen the the body scrub guy recently but maybe I've been going on his day off. And there's a different attendant handling towels, etc. Just has felt a bit subdued there on my last couple of visits.
    2. Used my coupon at Wi the other day, after not having been for a while. It is a beautiful spa in many ways, but I tend to enjoy myself more at others. So $15 or $20, no plans here to go back to Wi, at least regularly.
    3. This "towel over undies" nonsense is so typical at gyms, before and after the shower. Only us older dudes, as a rule, don't care anymore and just wipe down, drop the towel and then put on underwear. The younger guys mostly go through that "pull the underwear on while wearing the towel". It's just too awkward for me and besides, isn't the towel kind of wet? I don't go to Century, but I have seen a guy or two ignore the English signs at Grand: "No bathing suit", etc and wear their boxers in the spa area. There's usually an attendant around, but I guess no one wants to approach someone in the spa and say, "Take off your boxers..."
    4. When I first visited Riviera, I actually hurt my ass sitting on the sauna bench without a towel. They have a place on their webpage where you can share comments. I mentioned that, and the manager responded and said they'd adjust the temp. That was a long time ago. It did seem more bearable the next couple of times I went. But I haven't been for a while. The warm pool is the extra-long one. I always found that temp comfortable. The smaller pool near the scrub area is the hot one, as I recall. It never burned me or anything, I do recall it being pretty hot.
    My own topic:
    5. I enjoy scanning Craigslist personals, searching for "spa," seeing what guys are posting. And some dudes are way too inappropriate. They'll name a K spa and the time they will go and post a nude pic. "Let's meet and mess around..." Or more explicit stuff. I don't mind if fools like that end up getting caught and in trouble, but they'll make things bad for those of us who can be more discreet...

I don't have a problem telling him. I don't want their bacteria-laden underwear with all those skid marks polluting the nice clean pools and sauna benches that I use. If they can't be bothered to observe proper hygiene then they can get the hell out. It's MY health that they're putting at risk to preserve their daintiness. FUCK EM!

  2. I went wilshire over the weekend and they replaced the sex couch in the front with two recliners. Still grubby and the diluted 99 cent store shampoo crappy as ever.

  3. Went to Wilshire late last night. A good number of guys even past midnight. The sleeping room was hopping! I think the only thing I haven't seen in there is fisting :-P

There was one strange dude there who was quite hot. Blond, about 5'10", 170 lbs, early 30s, bit hairy and in good shape. He stayed at least two hours but seemed glued to the lounging area near the steam room. Kept having showers too. Spent almost no time anywhere else. He did go into the sleeping room at one point while there was a lot of play going on and stayed for about 20 minutes. Never participated or even really looked at anyone though. Guess he was interested but shy. A definite shame.

  4. Wi Spa kicked up their wet-area only price to $20 sometime in early summer, I believe. Not as good a deal as it was before, but still my favorite K-Spa in LA.

  5. At Century, I've found there to be almost a towel fetish. What is it with the towels? It is the most toweled Korean spa I've ever seen!

  6. I'm here at Wi now. Still $15 for the Tuesday special.

  7. So I'm one of the guys who wears a towel all the time. If I don't I get full on erections that don't go away. I am afraid of getting thrown out. I face the wall when I shower and step down the stairs with my towel in the jacuzzi removing it at the very last minute. My erections are straight up in the air sinuou can really tell I have one. I don't want to wear a towel but what choice do I have. :(

    1. I think it's really too bad that having an erection can be seen as inappropriate behavior. It's a perfectly natural thing that can happen to straight guys in saunas/spas too.

    2. I don't think anybody's going to care if you have a hardon. Own it :)

    3. To the guy who posted last Oct 3, when are you planning to go to a K spa again so I can personally tell you that it is very OK. It is way much better than having a dysfunction of you know what (estimated 18 million men in U.S. alone and counting).

  8. Went to Wilshire Spa Saturday night. Some new chairs. They took out some of the mats from the sleeping room. There was some mat sharing going on. Around 2:45 a.m., there was a major anal session between a middle-aged guy with glasses and a younger fit guy. Multiple positions, loud thrusts, and some moaning. Kinda shocking but, yeah, I was looking just like everyone else in the sleeping room.

    1. Wow! I am one of those guys who likes to watch. I have a big nice cock, young fit athletic body, but don't like to play just watch. What is the best time to go and see shows like this one?

    2. If you just watch, you still have to show yours.
remember the phrase, show me yours and i'll show you mine?

    3. He lists the time as 2:45 am so go then and at least show us your big nice cock while watching

    4. I always show show mine fully erect. I just wanted to see more action.

  9. I've never been to a spa before but am very curious to try one out. I'm a little nervous about the whole thing and am ideally looking for a place that's not very cruise-y or overly crowded so I can "get my feet wet" (so to speak). Any recommendations of places I should consider?

    1. Crystal spa is hardly mentioned on this blog. you can find a $16 entry on groupon right now (reg price is $35) I've only been there once but it is clean and has a coed jimjilbang area. I actually may visit later this week; meet up anyone?

    2. Natura spa is nice palce to visit. It is clean and not too intimidating.

    3. Going to try crystal spa because of the Groupon. I agree that Natura is a good place to start.

  10. Went to Century last night and right away witnessed a guy walking around the spa with his iPhone. I quickly narc'd on him. Sick of rude/obnoxious people who think the rules don't apply to them.

    1. Whats the best way to narc on rude people like that? Tell the front desk or something else?

    2. I was sitting in the dry sauna and noticed him with his iPhone as he walked by the big window. Had I been in the same space with him I would have told him to put it away. I didn't feel like creating a big scene by running out of the sauna after him, but as luck would have it the owner just happened to come around the corner about 2 seconds later. I popped out and had a quick word with him, I described what the guy looked like, and he said he'd take care of it.

    3. Isn't moisture bad for an iPhone or any phone for that matter?
There is no reason for any phone or electronic device to be out of
      your locker at a spa.
An old Asian man was in the dry sauna at Lion's the other Sunday
playing a game on his phone. At least I think he was? Maybe I am
posted all over the internet? Poor internet
