CJ Grand Spa in Hermosa closed for good, apparently.

I went to work out at the 24 Hour Fitness in Hermosa Beach the other night (I usually don't go to that location) and I took a peek upstairs to see what the status of CJ Grand Spa was...

The same sign is in the door saying that they're "temporarily closed", but it's not looking like they're coming back. It was dark when I was there, but the inside looked like it had been emptied. It's a shame, too. Oh well, I guess your best bet for a spa in the South Bay is Riviera now.

  1. What did you think of the guys at 24?

    1. There were some real hotties there. Definitely a hotter crowd than the average 24 Hour Fitness. Too bad I didn't get to see any of them naked though!

    2. It's one of the quirks of Southern California that as you get closer to the beach, most local residents look more and more athletic, more handsome, definitely sexier.

    3. The gym and the equipment is in good shape as are some of the customers at this 24 Hour Fitness.
The two locker rooms are both old and and run down.
The one I was in only had two showers and only one was working.
Not a problem since I was going to CJ Hermosa after but now that is no longer an option. LA gyms always seem to have grubby locker rooms. Always a shortage of janitors but never a shortage of sales staff

  2. I think many guys enjoyed CJ Hermosa as a spa for play as much as the spa experience. So I'm not sure about recommending Riviera as a replacement for CJ Hermosa, because Riviera leans more to the family side. Even if kids aren't around, there's usually men in straight couples who go in, bathe, then meet the lady or ladies upstairs at the "Jim il bang" or whatever that's called. They should be able to enjoy the spa without seeing half-hard guys strolling around or walk into the steamroom and get a surprise. So it's just my feeling but guys probably shouldn't try to make Riviera a place to "play." Now maybe a place to casually chat someone up and arrange to meet outside? Umm maybe!
I know the review was highly negative for Green Sauna in Gardena, and I haven't been myself, but I do notice on CL that some guys post they're going there or had fun with someone there. So for playtime, that's probably a better bet than Riviera. There's also 1350 in Wilmington for a true gay bathhouse.
But yeah, if you just want a really nice play to enjoy the spa experience and maybe see some nice eye candy, Riviera is a good bet. It is $25, however...

    1. I was more referring to using it as a spa, as opposed to hooking up.

    2. I agree with all you say. Riviera is not a suitable replacement for what was going down at CJ HB. I really enjoyed CJ HB and am sad that there doesn't appear to be a replacement in the environs. Such a shame.

    3. I REALLY WISH THIS LOCATION WOULD REOPEN. I MISS IT! AND I DONT LIKE KTOWN.
