Hey guys,
I decided to create this post specifically so you guys can post in the comments if you're looking for someone to go to a spa with, or meet up there, or whatever... makes it a lot easier than going through all the previous posts to see if people have posted there. So if you're planning to go and want to meet people there, you can post (or look) here instead!
A few guidelines...
(1) Post some information about yourself...physical description, age, ethnicity, interests and hobbies... I really don't care. I'm not going to force you to reveal everything about yourself, but I'm not going to drive all the way to Koreatown to hang out with someone that I know absolutely nothing about.
(2) Sign your name, nickname, user name, whatever you make up to identify yourself. It makes it a lot easier to reply to you, as opposed to "hey, third person to reply to this comment"
(3) Be specific...
- GOOD: "I'll be at Century Spa from 7pm-11pm tonight (Dec. 21), wearing a black digital sports watch and my key on my left ankle. And carrying a green water bottle."
- BAD: "I'll be at Century Spa tonight. I'm the guy with a towel. Say hi!"
(4) If you want to talk to someone privately, leave some kind of contact information! It can be a blogger profile that you're logged into, an adam4adam or dudesnude profile, your email address, whatever. One idea is to post something on Craigslist... when you do that, they give you a throwaway temporary email address that forwards to your own email... it's useful if you don't want to post your email address here.
(5) Maybe make some mention of your expectations. If you're looking to jerk off (or more), say so. If you absolutely don't want to do anything sexual and just want to hang out nude with other guys, say so. Not everyone is going there for the same thing.
(6) Be respectful. Don't be racist, ageist, etc... Remember that this isn't your private home, and you can't just tell a certain class of people that they're not welcome.
These guidelines are totally voluntary, so don't feel like I'm restricting you to post something you don't want to post. I'm just trying to make it easier for everyone. This is just an experiment right now... if I don't really like the way it's going, I may delete it. I may delete it anyway and start a new thread in the future, too, if this gets too popular.
Finally, have a great holiday season. Because of family obligations, etc, I probably won't get to the spa before next weekend, so enjoy it without me!

Checking out the scenery at Wi Spa after 2:30 pm today,

mostly shaved, white guy, 50. Black and silver pinky ring says "Anything Goes" but I am just going for the scenery and the soaking. Downstairs spa is only $15, free parking if you don't valet.
Wi was very busy but mainly Korean fathers, grandfathers and children this afternoon from 319 pm to about 730 pm.
DeleteA few cruisers spotted here and there, very diverse group
of races, ages and sizes. Did not see any action but too many kids present. Manager had to explain to 4 young college guys that they are not allowed to wear swimsuits or the Wi jimjilbang shorts in the jacuzzi. They seemed hesitant but complied and returned nude. Dozed off for about 30 minutes on the warm sleeping bricks with the wooden head rest until noisy kids playing in cold plunge woke me. Nice afternoon of soaking and steaming but I felt like I was in the kiddie pool at times. Early evening, like 830 pm, seems to be better with fewer or no kids. When I left the lobby was mobbed with about 20 to 30 women trying to check-in. So busy the counter woman screamed over the crowd for people checking out to come to the end of the counter by the gym doors and check out to clear out some of the crowd on the steps. Despite crowd a few parking spots in the lot were available when I left.
Thanks for the great report! Yeah, while I like Wi Spa, I've never found it to be very conducive to cruising.

Well since the guy above did a review I guess I can too. I am kinda new to the whole Korean spa thing so I decided to go to Century spa last night. I had only been once with a group of friends and liked it better than my one visit to Wilshire. Got there around 8:30 and lounged/soaked/steamed til 11:45. Good amount of good looking guys of varying ages, races and sizes. Cruisey but nothing too aggressive. The one time I had been there I did not see much action happening (a saturday afternoon) But last night the outside area the couple of times I went out there guys were playing around. I will definitely go back. Great spa to relax at and see the sights.

I think you have to check-in at Wi prior to 9 pm to avoid
the "overnight fee" any night and Tuesday you get the jimjilbang upstairs FREE with your $15 spa admission so that tends to bring out the kids.

ReplyDeleteThe youngest crowd is probably at Century Spa, but it can be aggressive at times. Not nearly as aggressive as Lions Spa or Wilshire Spa, though. Still, while it's the youngest average age, it's still mostly guys in their 30s and 40s, with a few guys in their 20s. But at Century, if you don't put out the "I'm looking to fool around" vibe, you'll be left alone. It's not like random guys will come up to you with no warning and grab your cock or anything; it's not a free-for-all like that.
DeleteAt Wi Spa, they're not aggressive at all, because it's not cruisy. There's pretty much no opportunity to fool around there, but it's a good spa experience if you want to be left alone.

Riviera lived up to your review. Lesser version of Wi Spa and empty. Expected a small crowd since parking lot was half-full but only about 15 K guys of varying ages (20's to 70's) passed through in the 2 hours I was waiting for my car to be serviced. Hot soak too hot and no jets just filters pumping hot water in and out, dry sauna was painfully hot with dirty, hot rug on floor, could not sit even on a towel, steam room was large but not hot and steamy enough. Best and only option was the large warm soak that claims it seats 32. Many jets and full view of the whole spa so got to watch a young guy get scrubbed in the corner area that is in full view. 12 standup and 8 sit down showers. Water fountain is warm and tastes odd. Used $5 off coupon from website so $20 plus they throw in the t-shirt and shorts for the jim-jil-bang if you want to get dressed and go upstairs (I didn't). Doubt I will ever go back unless I have a few hours to kill waiting for my car at Martin Chevrolet walking distance around the corner of Hawthorne and Lomita.

ReplyDeleteThursday afternoon I hit up Century spa, while laying on the floor in the clay sauna with another guy, this moron walks in and immediately drops his towel and starts stroking his dick. Neither I nor the other guy on the floor gave this creep any indication we were interested in him. We both turned away from him and tried to ignore him, but he kept stroking, moaning, slapping his dick against his hand, like somehow we hadn't noticed his presence! Someone walked in the sauna and it didn't even faze him, he just kept stroking. He continued to follow me and the other guy around the spa for a while. Later I was sitting in the hot bath and I noticed him upstairs in the meditation room walking back and forth in front of the big window completely naked with an erection, it was really disgusting and stupid.
Guys-let's not be dumb and ruin a good thing. Be discreet and be RESPECTFUL of other guys at the spa. There are straight men there and other gay men might not want to play with you. Hope you don't mind my rant.

One time, there was an older gentlemen that kept following me around the spa who kept asking me what my favorite gay bar was, if I liked going to a local bathhouse and generally beating his own meat (what there was of it.) Look, I don't mind messing around a little bit if the mood is right, but don't be so blatant - especially when there are little kids around.

ReplyDeleteWith over 10 gay bath houses in LA there is no reason to conduct yourself in this manner at a K-Spa. Sure, they are not as nice as a K-Spa but your actions are permitted and encouraged at places like the FLEX. I don't mind discreet interest but open j.o. is really wrong. There are straight men, children and others that do not need to see your inappropriate personal activity and continuing after getting a "NO" is an invasion of my privacy. Don't ruin K-Spas for those of us who just want to soak and steam and enjoy being naked with other men in a relaxing environment.
Awww I do agree with everything that's been said buuut I have to also chuckle just a little bit and feel sorry for you guys for being so damn hot apparently. I'm early 30s, white, avg body (not ripped though) and I have been to these century and other spas countless times with absolutely no incidents at all, I've never even seen any action on the patio. Which leads me to believe I must be ugly by LA standards or the rest of you are just gorgeous guys. No one likes to be followed by a creeper but good lord, it would be nice to at least have another guy make eye contact with me from time to time :-)
ReplyDeleteWell FWIW, I never claimed in my original post that my insane hotness was causing the unwanted advances. I'm 35, white, in decent shape and hairy-which I believe is a cardinal sin in LA. What I deliberately omitted from my post was that my creeper was at least 10 years younger than me. He was skinny and hairless, which doesn't do anything for me, but to each his own. However, his pushy demeanor totally disgusted me.

I'm a huge fan of these spas in the early morning. While its less crowded than the evening, there are always a handful of people there and I find the crowd to be more social and friendly than usual. Plus everyone seems more comfortable with full nudity at this time and I rarely see towels. I had a great morning last week chatting with a bunch of guys in the hot pool and steam room at 8:30. No one bothered with towels or batted an eye when a few of us got erections. 34 here, white, 145, 5'9, always looking to hang out naked in the morning with new friends.

Century is pretty accessible. Can anyone tell me if other spas would be accessible (no stairs for entry or elevator access to wet area, wide enough doors)? Appreciate any input. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could help with info but honestly wheelchair access isn't something I usually pay attention to. CJ Spa Northridge is all on one level. I believe Lions is too, but the sleeping area is upstairs and I don't remember there being an elevator. CJ Hermosa has an elevated hot tub and I don't think there's any way for a wheelchair to get up there. I'm pretty sure Wi Spa is accessible... There are stairs down to the locker area but there is an elevator elsewhere (to get from the wet area to the jimjilbang) that I'd imagine you'd be able to use. You have to go down stairs at Wilshire Spa... I don't recall an elevator there but there might be one. The tubs are elevated at Grand Spa, I don't remember if there's one of those contraptions to get you up there or not.

Wi is the most spacious, I think. Plenty of room for a wheelchair, and elevators to get to the common areas/restaurant. If I recall correctly, Natura might be fairly accessible as well. I'm pretty sure that there is NOT an elevator that would make Wilshire Spa accessible, so rule that one out. There are also several steps up one would have to negotiate to get to Century's three pools.

I've only been to Century once before and wouldn't mind meeting up with someone who could show me the ropes. ReplyDeletelike Wi Spa so you should be able to soak, steam and relax in peace and quiet with little interruption. Not sure how Century prices their evenings but I think there is a $5 surcharge after 9 pm.
I think the surcharge is after midnight, and it's if you stay past midnight. So you could go in paying regular price, but if you leave past midnight they'll charge you the additional fee. I think there's also another fee if you stay past 4:00am or something. I've stayed to past 10 before, haven't been past midnight though.

ReplyDeleteI haven't been to Crystal. Wi has plenty of scenery and plenty of gay customers, but I've never seen any fooling around. It's a nice, big place and you can get food. On weekends in particular, it can be family-oriented; I haven't found the kids to be annoying, but others have.
DeleteWilshire Spa is another 24-hour place; no food there, but you're pretty much assured of being in like-minded company.
